Hi, I’m Nick – a Provisional Psychologist. I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families as they navigate the ups and downs of growing up. My approach is warm, playful, and collaborative, with a focus on building a safe space where young people feel truly heard and understood.
I work with children and teens experiencing a wide range of challenges, such as anxiety, big emotions, school stress, identity and self-esteem concerns, friendship or family difficulties, and the challenges that come with life changes. I have a particular interest in supporting young people who hold themselves to very high standards, feel “different” or “stuck,” or who are learning to balance family expectations with their own sense of identity.
In sessions, I balance compassion with gentle guidance. I aim to strengthen resilience, self-understanding, and confidence, while also equipping children and families with practical tools they can use day-to-day. I draw on evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), adapting them in developmentally appropriate and engaging ways for each child and family.
Before becoming a psychologist, I worked for over 3 years as a disability support worker, which gave me valuable insight into the strengths and needs of children and young people with diverse abilities. I also believe strongly in practising what I encourage – I’ve experienced the benefits of therapy myself and know how powerful it can be when children and families feel supported in their journey.
Outside of work, I enjoy fitness and wellness, and I’m always curious about what helps children, families, and communities thrive.
If you’re looking for a psychologist who values emotional connection, cultural sensitivity, and a warm, engaging approach – I’d love to meet you and your family.
